Savandurga trek

Place : Savandurga.
Distance from bangalore : around 70 Km from bangalore.
Location : There are two hilles one is called belligudda(white rock) another one is called karigudda(black hill). You can find the local guide also if you want to go by yourself.

Booking agency : http://bmcindia.org/ I find it really good and worth for money. Food is south indian and not much variety but I liked it. When I am on trek i do not care for food. :)

Facility Provided : Transport, lunch, evening snacks/tea, local guide.

Activities: Trekking, Rock climbing, cave exploring, repelling, nature walk, Nature photography, Fun, relax.

June 2011 :

after the cancellation of Sikkim trip, I desperately wanted to go somewhere.

I was not sure where I wanted to go, but I was frustrated from inside and that could have been relieved only by another trip.

Since I was not in mood to search and book everything, so I decided to outsource it.

I kept hearing about bmcindia.org, I decided to take a chance and go for their day treks.

So, I called the bmcindia office on friday morning to book for one day trekking to Savandurga on Saturday. The lady on phone told that she had 4 seats available and I can book it anytime. So, I informed Amber to book it on his way back from the office. But at 4 o'clock, I got a call that all seats were booked. With this call I went into the same frustrated state - Why I can not finalize any trip and whatever I planned was getting cancelled because of some reason or the other.

When amber came back from office i was almost in tears :P as usual(god know why tears??? ) . My Sweetheart is so nice that he told that we will go by our own, he started looking where else we can go. But by this time I had lost my all interest to go anywhere and I convinced my self that we would sit at home and watch movie. I was so sad and disappointed that i didn't check my phone for quite long time. Finally, I checked my phone at 8 PM and saw that saw that there were 6 missed call from an unknown number. This was bit odd but even i didn't bother to call that number back. After a while I received another call from the same unknown number.

I picked that phone and what I heard was totally unexpected. It was from bmc and the person told me that 6 people cancelled the trip so we could join now. He also informed that he can come now to collect the payment. I was not able to decide what should we do now? But finally we agreed to go.

The biggest challenge was to get ready on time in the morning, but somehow we managed and reached at to our pickup stop near Intel office at 7 AM (on time). We reached to Savandurga by 10.30 AM. We did some trekking and cave exploration. I must say that it was very nice experience and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The guide showed us some very interesting methods to climb the rocks, I totally loved the whole exercise though it was tiring. We did rappelling from a height of 60 ft and trust me that was awesome. This small trip had made my day and cured the frustration. I was very happy with the bmc services and facilities and charges. Can book many tours in future.
