Anthargange Caves and trek Place : Anthargange caves (Near Kolar) Distance from Bangalore : Around 80 km Trip type : Day trip Day of travel : 18th September Trekking length/Duration : Approx 3 km (to and fro)/ Around 2-2.5 hours Difficulty level - Moderate Our lives these days resemble the song " Hum tum ek kamre mai band ho aur chabi kho jaaye... Socho kabhi yesa ho to kya ho... " We all are locked in our houses/city and don't know what to do.  Though everything is open but still it is wise to avoid unnecessary travel. Moreover travelling for vacation is still NO NO!! So, we continue to do what is considered safe and doable in a day. Tatva has now completed 3 beginner level trek, and I was thrilled to start next level of trekking with him. I decided multiple places like Madhugiri fort, Kabbaladurga and Anthargange and zeroed down to Antargange, because this is closest (55km) to Bengaluru, while Madhugiri and Kabbaladurga are around 110 km.  The view point at Anthar

Place : Mandaragiri hills Distance from Bangalore : Around 70 km Trip type : Day trip/Half day trip Day of travel : 29th August. After listening to our trek stories and reading our blog, our close relative who stays in Bengaluru showed their interest towards trekking. So we decided to have one group trek/outing with Social distancing. Considering kids in the group we decided to do the easier trek.  After doing some research we finalised the Mandaragiri Hills.  Mandaragiri Hills is around 70km from Bangalore, and took around 2 hours to reach to the parking spot. We saw around 10 more cars parked in the parking slot. It was a surprise for us because all the places we went earlier, hardly had any cars or people around. This was little disappointing to me but decided to continue anyways.  Mandaragiri hill on the background(White strip are Steps) The place - On the base of hill there is a Jain temple(which was closed due to Corona). Unlike other hills, this is a barren naked hill. there we

How do you feel in above situation? if you feel thrilled and excited then Handi Gundi Betta is best spot in Covid situation. 😊 This trip was much more thrilling than we expected, we had challenges everywhere not only on the trek path. This was our 3rd trek within Bangalore since lockdown. We started enjoying and getting comfortable in this kind of outing until the situation become normal and we can have vacation again. So the story begins -  We set the google map location "Handi Gundi betta trek starting point" and started from home around 12 Noon. It was around 2 PM when we hit one railway crossing; just 2 km before t

Nandi hills : Trekking path Place : Nandi Hills Distance from Bangalore : Around 60 km Trip type : Day trip/Half day trip Day of travel : 3rd August trekking length/Duration : Approx 4 km (to and fro). 1-1.5 hour If you are staying in Bengaluru then you must have been to Nandi hills. If you have been to Nandi Hills then you must be knowing that one can drive till the hill top. Then why trekking??? This trekking path will offer you completely different view which is not available from the top of Nandi Hills. The trek starts from backside of the paved road. The trek is very well carved stepped path. Throughout the trek is green and scenic. If you are not used to steps then you might find it hectic, take rest in between. This is best trekking path if you are beginner or with kids. My 8 year son completed the trek without getting tired. Google map shows the "Nandi hills trek starting point" So make sure you set the right location in the map. You will also find the Notice board on
