Date : 25th Jan - 29th Jan
Kind of resort : Luxury resort, will cost you 50,000 INR+ per night in the peak season.
About Maldives : Maldives is situated in southwest of India and
srilanka, direct flight from Bengaluru (Air India flies direct) take approx 2
hours. It is made up of many small coral islands. It has around 1200
islands. only 200 are inhabited by local Maldivian
people. nearly 100 islands have been developed as tourist resorts and the
remaining islands are uninhabited. While there are 26 geographical atolls.
Why Maldives : We planned for Maldives for our 10th wedding anniversary. A decade of marriage, seems long, isn't it? But when you find someone whom you want to spend your whole life and you fall in love with him very single day, a decade looks like a fraction and you look forward to many more beautiful years of togetherness. Maldives is very special trip for us, it is one of its kind. Most of the private islands are a resort in themselves and contain tremendous amount of natural beauty.
The planning : The planning of maldives can drive you crazy, as there are hundreds of islands and all are too beautiful to make your decision very very difficult. So, it is important for you to clear your priorities like - budget, distance from Male, kids friendliness, facilities, food etc. so that you can target right set of resorts.

Day wise Itinerary :
25th Jan : We had our flight from Bengaluru at 2:20 PM,
and we had planned to start from home around 10 AM, but there was a Bandh(curfew) declared, due to which we left from our home at 5 AM in the morning and spent
around 8 hours at Bangalore airport. The whole torture made me cry at the
airport. This was another trip which started with tears and Amber could not hold
his laughter.
Flight was on time and we
reached Maldives Capital Male at around 4PM. (Male is 30 min behind IST). Arrangement in the airport was very effective and without any fuss we onboard to the private speed boat which was waiting for us to drop us to the island. Everything was smooth and
well organised. The water was crystal clear and with white sand it was
looking heavenly. We reached our resort in 45 min. The first expression
was WOWWWWW!!!!! The walk on approx 200m long wooden Pier was funfilled
for our son, as we spotted baby sharks, string ray and many other colourful fishes while walking on the wooden platform.
After the resort orientation, without wasting any time just we plunged into sea. We played in water for around 30 min and then got ready for the dinner.
They had multiple restaurants and each one of them were located on the beach or beach side, decorated very beautifully. A few of them give you a feeling of exclusiveness and awesomeness.
26th Jan : When whole India was celebrating their Republic day, we were celebrating our independence day. Independence from work,
worry, tension, stress and regular life. Soaking in sea and sun, enjoying
the beauty of nature and watching our 5 year old collecting sea shells.
We had luxurious breakfast. Played and enjoyed in the sea for whole day along with photo session.
By the end of the day, we collected the snorkelling equipment to teach our 5 year old son snorkelling as he loves sea and we knew he would like it as well. To our surprise, he learnt it one go. He was also able snorkel independently after 10 minutes teaching(of course with life jacket).

27th Jan :Every morning whenever I opened my eyes I felt like I was in paradise. The white sand, green ocean, blue sky, pollution free
air, and Amber(love of my life); what else you desire in life. The plan of the day was snorkelling. We went
for snorkelling in deep sea via boat with 3 more couples, Tatva did his first snorkelling in
deep sea. I was sure he will do it and he was perfect on my expectations. We had 3 snorkelling session, 30 min each. Tatva was dead tired after
1st session and we all were in same situation after the all 3 sessions. We planned to had
spa bath to ease the tiredness and rejuvenate ourself. After the relaxing SPA and
bath we decided to explore other sides of the resorts as well. The water
villas, infinity pools, cafes and various restaurants. We spent evening in infinity pool which also had sunset view.

28th jan: We received gift hamper from Resort on
the occasion of our anniversary with wine bottle and cake. We had lazy morning
in our villa, enjoying our breakfast which was served in the room with cake and
wine.
We went for Dolphin cruise in
the evening. It was one of the best natural dolphin dance we have witnessed.
There were around 50 dolphins and all of then are in playful moods.
29th Jan - Today was the day of departure. I always hate
ending trip and writing about last day about the trip.
We
had to part away with a bucket of shells which my son collected in last 4
days.
But this anniversary was special. We did not know that an extended celebration waiting for us in Bangalore. Our lovely Pinki had planned another cake and another celebration for our 10th anniversary.
Welcome arrangement done by Pinki |
