Place : Gudibande Fort trek and lunch at embassy international riding school
Distance from Bangalore : Around 100 km
Trip type : Day trip/Half day trekking trip
Day of travel : 3rd Oct 2021

It was sudden trek plan. One of my husband's colleague asked us on friday, if we would like to join them for the trek which they were planning. I said yes, without even checking the place name. 😀
The place is around 100 km from the Bengaluru. Roads are pretty good through-out. There is Gudibande lake as well on the way which is a very big lake. It provide very scenic view and proper photo point.
We spent around 10 min to click some pics and continued towards trek start point. Trek start point for Gudibande fort is just 10 min from this lake.

The place
- Gudibande Fort is a 17th fort built by Byre Gowda some 400 odd years ago. It is also said to be the replica of the Madhugiri fort.Another fascinating fact about this fort is that it has seven floors which are interconnected with each other. It is a less known place for trekkies out there and slowly becoming popular over the past few years.

The trek starts with well formed steps, (this is common for any "Fort" trek around Bengaluru). After around 60-100 steps we have little rocky terrain which had uneven stone steps and green nature trail.
With 3 kids and multiple breaks we managed to reach to the top of the fort in 1.25 hour. The trek passes though multiple caves, secret path, structures. Kids enjoyed the trail very much as it has interesting and curious structures, small water bodies on the way up.

We have fort wall boundaries on the top of the hill. There is no fort or ruins of fort there, but there is small temple.  This is a big area and people can spend an hour to explore whole place if they want to.
The hill top have 2 major circular structure (Circular fort boundaries). Its beautiful place with beautiful view all around. There are lot of interesting and fascinating things around.

Overall its simple trek which you can do with kids. but trekking shoes will be required. View is satisfying and worth all the efforts.  We can see Gudibande lake as well from top.

I always find trekking down tricky. Due to uneven steps I even find it harder. We took it slow and climbed down in 45 min.

On the way back, we decided to have lunch at embassy international riding school. We have been there earlier. Its horse riding school. We thought kids will be happy to see horses around. The food was as usual yummy and delicious. At the time of billing we came to know that there was some horse riding show going on. We were so happy and thrilled with this news. It was great to see live competitive equestrian event in which horse and rider are required to jump.

After spending around 2 hours at embassy international riding school, we drove back to Bengaluru around 4.30 PM.

Thankyou for reading. 😊
