If you are staying in Bengaluru then you must have been to Nandi hills. If you have been to Nandi Hills then you must be knowing that one can drive till the hill top. Then why trekking???
This trekking path will offer you completely different view which is not available from the top of Nandi Hills. The trek starts from backside of the paved road. The trek is very well carved stepped path. Throughout the trek is green and scenic. If you are not used to steps then you might find it hectic, take rest in between. This is best trekking path if you are beginner or with kids. My 8 year son completed the trek without getting tired.
Google map shows the "Nandi hills trek starting point" So make sure you set the right location in the map. You will also find the Notice board once you reach there. The trek is straight forward, you can not miss the path or get lost, Just follow the steps. Below is how the starting point looks like.
It was a pleasant Sunday morning. We decided to head to Nandi Hills to get a break from "now normal" work from home routine. It had been more than a month since we went for Kailasagiri trek. Based on that experience we were sure that Treks are one of the safest options where you can get a break from normal routine, enjoying nature without getting in contact with many human beings.
By the time we reached to the foothill, it was 2:15PM, we ate our lunch in car and then started the trek.

The beauty of the hills started to increase as we covered more steps. The views were breathtaking at places. The steps are steep at some points and uneven. It can get slippery during rains, so just be careful with the footings.
We were pretty mesmerised by the surrounding beauty and we took our sweet time, seeping in the natural beauty and the cool breeze.
Avoid any edible in your bag as well otherwise monkeys will follow you. Considering current situation you will have very few people around. We found only 2 more families while trekking, both were coming down when we were climbing up.
Took us almost an hour to reach the top.The entrance gate to hilltop (just after the Shiva temple) was closed by thorny shrubs (due to Covid).
We spent 30-45 mins near there, lying on the rocks, watching cloud formations.
So eventually we spent day with beautiful weather, lush green mountains, fresh air, bird chirping sounds and happily tired feet!!!
Easy to follow, thanks for sharing!
