2021 - Year Recap

 2021- Year recap

One of the trends on Instagram where people post one pic for each month of 2021, gave me the idea of writing blog for whole year in the similar pattern; to review what we have done throughout the year.

Earlier(before writing this blog) I was cribbing that we could not go out because of lockdown/pandemic, my opinion has changed after writing this blog. 😊We did a lot of things this year; family trips, trekking, house shifting, many blogs, Insta reels and much more.

So without delay, lets get started  -

  • January - Mysore trip with sister in laws(Nanad) and niece (Blog link)
  • February - Chhota ladhak small trek/picnic (Blog link)
  • March - Udupi trip (Blog link)
  • April - At home
  • May - At home and observed sun Halo.
  • June - At home and started crochet again.
  • July - House shifting work
  • August - Ramanagara outing/camping and trek with Mom, cousins and friends
  • September - Bannerghatta national park and Big banyan vineyard with parents, brother and sister in law(Bhabhi)
  • October - Gudibande fort trek with friends (Blog link)
  • November - Mangalore trip with Mother in law
  • December - Night trek with cousins (Blog link) and  Mahabalipuram trip(A big family group)

January - Mysore trip was as usual a short and simple trip. Mysore palace is my favorite place in Mysore. Day view, night view or inside the Mysore palace, everything is beautiful and different. I just love the beauty of it.

February - Chhota ladhak is just a photo spot. You should read my blog if you are planning for this place.

March - Udupi trip, an awesome and beautiful trip. We were so amazed to see beautiful beaches (within Karnataka) that we decided to explore all other beaches of Karnataka. We actually covered Mangalore in November. Gokarna and Dandeli is in my to-do list of 2022.

April - Lockdown was implemented again in Bengaluru, So just chai and work. :)

Working. :)

May - A rare phenomena of having 360 degree rainbow around the Sun. It is called "Sun halo". We witnessed Sun halo in Bangalore on 24th May. Many people have put beautiful creative pictures of this over internet but I am adding the pic which I clicked in my Mobile.

We lucky Bangalorians. 😁

July - Most of our third quarter was spent on finishing the interior and shopping for house. Finally we shifted to our house in August.

Finally shifted to our new home(in Aug)

August - Ramanagara outing/camping and trek. Booked via https://www.thrillophilia.com/. Food was average at this place. We did barbecue at night, stayed in tents. Bathrooms were also average. We booked the whole place so there were no other group/People.
Camp stays are not comfortable for younger kids so plan accordingly.

September - We went to Big banyan vineyard with my parents for wine tasting and vineyard tour. There is also famous Big banyan tree close-by, which you can cover. Food is delicious in their restaurant, which is named as "Ranch". Kids are not allowed inside the wine factory during Wine tasting(which is for approx 30 mins). It can be a good day outing from Bangalore.

Other place we covered in September was Bannergatta national park. If you are not the trekking person, then this is also one day trip kind of place in Bengaluru.

October - Gudibande fort trek is a kid friendly trek. Gudibande Fort is a 17th fort built by Byre Gowda some 400 odd years ago. It is also said to be the replica of the Madhugiri fort. Another fascinating fact about this fort is that it has seven floors which are interconnected with each other. It is a less known place for trekkers and slowly becoming popular over the past few years. Please go though the blog if you need more information. Total trek duration was around 2-3 hours.

November - Mangalore trip. Mangalore is closest beach tourism spot in Karnataka for Bangalorians. Due to covid restrictions we preferred to stay in Karnataka and explore more within state. We stayed in place called "Camp 21". According to them, this is only beach resort in Karnataka which is on the beach.  The place is amazing, beach facing cottages, spacious rooms and private beach. Food is also good. Highly recommended place to stay in Mangalore.

December - Mahabalipuram trip was again a group trip with elderly and kids. After covering Indian western coast twice this year (Udupi and Mangalore), we wanted to cover the east coast. We also covered Pondicherry while coming back to Bangalore. I felt beach is bit Harsh and sand is little rough as compared to west coast but potential good candidate for weekend trip from Bangalore.
